In two days, I will be 21 years old. I know, that's pretty old. That's more than two decades...
To celebrate this occasion, Ged and I have embarked on a little adventure of sorts. We're currently in Pensacola, Fl. (on the panhandle), but we've been to a couple of cool places already.
Cue pictures.
This is the Wakulla Springs lodge in Wakulla Springs, Fl. It's a state park out in the middle of nowhere in northwest Florida.
A really neat old lodge that was built in 1937.
I was loving this fireplace. Such a novelty for me.
The ceiling was covered in paintings of wildlife and American Indian designs.
Ged beat me at checkers...
In back of the lodge, there was a swimming area and tons of wildlife.
Super clear water.
Sea cows (aka manatees) were hanging out.

Swamp Cross 2010
This past Saturday, Ged and I had the pleasure of going to Swamp Cross 2010, a cyclocross race that happens every year in Gainesville.
I've never been to this sort of cycling event before, so I was really eager to see what it was like.
It was a pretty small event, but still enjoyable. Very easygoing crowd yet competitive riders. There was even a FIXIE race. Some of these guys are crazy...
Here are some shots I got.

A Video...By Me
Here's another video I just created for a photojournalism class.
The Santa Fe Century is a 100-mile bike ride sponsored by the Gainesville Cycling Club that happens every year in Gainesville, Fl. Riders from across the state and country come to enjoy the scenic route of this ride that takes place at the end of October.
Enjoy.

Wet One
70 miles? Done.
Ged and I rode around Sanford, Fl., Sunday morning as part of the Holiday Hundred bike ride.
We woke at 5 a.m. and drove 2 hours to Sanford. A bit chilly when we first got out of the car but once we were on the bike, everything started to warm up.
BUT THEN
The grayish clouds above turned black and before I knew it, gentle drops turned into fat drops and I couldn't see through my sunglasses anymore because they were so foggy.
It was at that moment, as my socks were soaked through and specks of dirt were flying into my mouth, that I decided that I wasn't doing the 100 miles but instead the 62 miles (the "metric century"). Call me a wuss, but I just wasn't feelin' it.
Ged trying to take pictures while riding....
Dirty but fun at the end of the day.

What I Do
I'm a photojournalism major. I take pictures.
Lately, however, my teachers have been incorporating video into our course curriculum.
As a result, I have just finished shooting and editing a video project with two other girls for a class project.
Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAGCyeIhz2Y
(Warning: It involves lots of guns.)
